Job summary

A leading global mining company is seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance (Mobile) for their All Mines Development Maintenance Mobile Team at Creighton Mine in Sudbury, Ontario. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • At least 5 years in the HDET trade.
  • Experience in a mining plant or heavy industry is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario Red Seal and Common Core credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve team performance through effective processes.
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes and guidelines.
  • Monitor KPIs and elevate issues threatening work completion.
  • Monitor KPIs and strive to meet plant targets and budgets.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, planners, schedulers, superintendents and crews.
  • Maintain safety practices per ESA, OSHA and Vale Standards.
  • Follow the CBA requirements negotiated with the union.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance (Mobile) to join our All Mines Development Maintenance Mobile Team at Creighton Mine in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent on-site position. The work schedule is 5‑4 days/nights rotation – 10.5 hour shift.

As a Supervisor, Maintenance (Mobile) you will be accountable for continuously improving the work team performance through the effective use of established processes and procedures at Creighton Mine. Your experience and skills will establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including supervisors, planners, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.

  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools, and standards.
  • Review and promote/reject all new Urgent notifications in your work center through the group approval process.
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed. Identify and elevate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • Work within assigned budgets and elevate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including supervisors, planners, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.
  • Follow safe work practices and guidelines, ESA, OSHA, Vale Standards.
  • Follow the CBA to ensure that we meet or exceed requirements negotiated with the union.
About You
Education
  • Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency with equivalent experience is required.
  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline.
  • Valid industrial trade certificate for the province of Ontario (HDET Red Seal Certificate of Qualification 421A).
  • Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141).
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience and experience as a supervisor.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the HDET trade is required.
  • Experience in a mining plant or heavy industry is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, SAP, and Prometheus add‑on.
Skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
