The Fixed Assets Maintenance Supervisor (Working Supervisor) is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on fixed assets and processing equipment across CMI facilities. This role provides daily leadership to maintenance technicians while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal impact on production.
The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Contractors to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Here's what you'll be responsible for in this role
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians while actively participating in daily maintenance activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on fixed assets and plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural equipment failures.
- Review, prioritize, assign, and monitor maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns and emergency repairs while minimizing production downtime.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability and asset performance.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.
- Work closely with Operations to prioritize maintenance activities based on production requirements.
- Coordinate contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history using the CMMS.
- Assist in developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
- Monitor maintenance inventory and assist with ordering spare parts, materials, and maintenance supplies.
- Train, mentor, and develop maintenance employees while promoting a positive team environment.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance efficiency.
- Participate in after-hours support and emergency breakdown response when required.
We think it would be awesome if you have or are
- Red Seal Industrial Millwright (433A) or equivalent industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead hand role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and fabrication practices.
- Experience with CMMS systems (Uptime, SAP, or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, OEM manuals, and technical documentation.
- Experience in heavy industrial, recycling, mining, steel, aggregates, manufacturing, or similar industries is considered an asset.
- Familiarity or experience with maintenance of metal balers, shear machines, conveyors, shredders, hydraulic systems, and heavy material handling equipment is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between CMI facilities as required.
