Job summary

Aramark is seeking a First Cook for the Manic-3 camp, with a 14/14 rotation. Wage is 26.49 CAD/hour, with 70 hours per week and overtime paid after 40 hours. Transportation is provided from Montréal and Québec City, plus a shuttle from Pessamit and Baie-Comeau.

Meals and private lodging are included, with insurance benefits available. The role requires a DEP in professional cooking or equivalent, MAPAQ certification, and 3–4 years in food service.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Professional Cooking (DEP) or equivalent experience.
• MAPAQ certification.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in food service or the restaurant industry.
• Strong culinary foundation (asset).
• Experience working in a remote camp environment (asset).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Positive attitude, honesty, and good judgment.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise the daily preparation of meals according to the established menu, while ensuring quality standards and timelines are met.
• Cook and prepare a variety of food items following production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Manage kitchen operations (staff, inventory, and ordering as required).
• Be able to respond to operational needs.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, consumers, clients, colleagues, and others.
• Ensure the quality of food services and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation programs.
• Follow all applicable safety regulations.
• Perform any other related duties as required.
