Job summary

Aramark is hiring a First Cook for Hydro-Québec in East James Bay. The role offers 70 hours per week with a base hourly wage of $27.98 and wage increases after the 300-hour probation period. Rewards include meals, accommodations, and comprehensive benefits as part of a remote camp operation.

The successful candidate will manage kitchen operations, ensure food safety, and provide excellent service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary diploma (DEP) preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in food service or the restaurant industry.
• Strong culinary skills and experience are an asset.
• Previous experience in a remote camp environment is an asset.
• MAPAQ certification.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation programs.
• Follow all established safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Prepare the daily menu.
• Manage kitchen operations, including staff, inventory, and ordering as required.
• Be able to respond effectively to operational needs.
• Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment. Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, cutting, and peeling food items.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, colleagues, and others.
• Ensure the quality of food services and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
