Job description

Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for a Finisher on our Operations Team for the Day Shift (7 am to 3:30 pm)!

The Finisher is responsible for performing materials grounding tasks assigned by lead hands. Prerequisites include the possibilities of work assigned in other areas on a needed basis, the willingness to teach/learn grounding techniques to/from others, the proven efforts to maintain work area cleanliness, and the ensured safety awareness/practices for self and others in the workplace. Furthermore, the finisher will ensure the quality of work by carrying out corrective actions as needed, and in reporting deviations as observed.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is based in our Mississauga, Ontario facility. This is a full-time, permanent role that is an addition to headcount.

Major Accountability / Required Skills
  • Knowledge of sanding discs and lubricants

Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Basic ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Working conditions
    • Stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of the workday
    • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch
    • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and over 50 lbs. with assistance
    • Ability to use hands to reach and to handle or feel
    • Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage, preferably in manufacturing settings
    • Ability to visibly inspect product
  • Education and Experience
  • 1+ years of experience required.
