Job description

$28.00 per hour | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Windsor/Essex, ON

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Financial Services Coordinator for a long-term care organization in the Windsor/Essex area.

This is an immediate, full-time opportunity beginning on a temporary basis with real potential to transition into permanent employment. The role is well suited to an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on financial work but also values being part of a people-focused environment.

This is not a traditional back-office accounting position. You will be responsible for important day-to-day financial processes while regularly interacting with employees, residents, families, management, and a centralized finance team.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Process payroll accurately and meet established payroll deadlines
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable activities
  • Process payroll-related documentation, including Records of Employment, T4s, benefits, pension/RRSP information, union dues, and related records
  • Support resident billing, pre-authorized payments, overdue accounts, and resident trust accounts
  • Complete bank deposits, petty cash transactions, reconciliations, reimbursements, and cheque processing
  • Prepare financial information and support month-end reporting and audit requirements
  • Respond to payroll, benefit, billing, and financial questions while working closely with the Executive Director and centralized finance and payroll team
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum two-year diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Strong payroll knowledge and the ability to work accurately within firm processing deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including comfort working with formulas and established templates
  • Strong computer skills and confidence working within digital, paperless systems and processes
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the patience and professionalism to interact effectively with employees, residents, and families
Nice to Have
  • ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or comparable payroll-system experience
  • Experience processing payroll in a unionized environment
  • Experience interpreting collective agreement provisions related to payroll
  • Long-term care, retirement living, healthcare, or similar experience
The Environment

You'll be joining a growing long-term care environment where the financial services function has a direct impact on both the operation of the home and the people who live and work there.

The pace can change quickly, so this role suits someone who can maintain control of payroll and accounting deadlines while adapting to interruptions and changing priorities. You'll also need to be comfortable working with people and providing patient, professional assistance to employees, residents, and families.

  • Pay: $28.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Preferred Hours: 9AM to 5PM
  • Work Arrangement: On-site
  • Employment Type: Temporary with potential for permanent employment

As this position works within a long-term care environment, the successful candidate will also be required to satisfy applicable pre-employment requirements, including a Vulnerable Sector Check and tuberculosis testing.
