Job summary

Kelly Services (Canada), Ltd. is seeking a Finance & Payroll Generalist in Simcoe, ON to support day-to-day financial and payroll operations.

The role covers accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing support, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a post-secondary education in accounting/finance, at least 3 years of experience, and proficiency with Excel and accounting software.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or payroll administration.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  • CPA or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, or financial analysis is an asset.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
  • Review, verify, and process invoices, payments, and expense claims.
  • Prepare customer invoices and apply incoming payments.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring employee information and payroll data accuracy.
  • Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for management.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain financial databases and accounting systems with up-to-date information.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies related to financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations.
  • Contribute to process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable legislation.
  • Provide administrative and financial support for special projects as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

We are looking for a Finance & Payroll Generalist in Simcoe, ON for one of our clients in the social services sector. As the Finance & Payroll Generalist is responsible for supporting the organization's day-to-day financial and payroll operations. This role includes accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll support, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Please note: this is a 1 year contact, with possible extension and/or conversion.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
