Job summary

BDO is seeking a Financial Planner to join our Wealth Management team in Toronto. This replacement role focuses on data entry, needs analysis, and delivering comprehensive financial planning solutions across investments, taxes, and estate planning.

The candidate will develop recommendations, prepare reports, and support RRSP/RESP/TFSA tracking. A CFP designation with 3+ years of wealth planning experience is preferred. Salary range reflects market in Canada.

Qualifications

  • Be pursuing or have completed the CFP designation.
  • 3+ years' experience in wealth/financial planning preferred.
  • Inquisitive, curious attitude with continuous improvement.
  • Experience using planning software and proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Process client data and data entry in financial planning software.
  • Identify financial planning needs and develop client solutions.
  • Support clients with investments, insurance, tax management, retirement analysis, estate planning, and succession planning.
  • Develop recommendations and identify opportunities to help clients reach goals.
  • Prepare report packages and other planning tasks; assist with ad hoc duties.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Financial Planner to join our Wealth Management team. This is a replacement position and the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Process client data and complete data entry in financial planning software
  • Identify financial planning needs and solutions for clients by considering the client’s wealth, life goals and other objectives
  • Serve as a resource for clients with needs surrounding financial planning, investments, insurance, tax management, executive compensation, retirement analysis, estate planning, philanthropy and business succession planning
  • Develop recommendations and identify areas of opportunity to assist clients in achieving their financial goals
  • Other Financial Planning tasks including, but not limited to:
    • meeting preparation
    • RRSP, RESP and TFSA account tracking
    • research assignments
    • prepare report packages
    • other duties as assigned
  • Ad hoc duties and projects as required

Your experience and education
  • Be pursuant or have completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation
  • 3+ years' experience in the wealth/financial planning industry is preferred (in banking, insurance, investment related workplace)
  • Inquisitive, curious attitude by continuously asking questions and looking for opportunities to make improvements
  • You ideally have experience utilizing planning software and are proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision

The expected range of compensation for this role is $76,000 - $114,000 annually
