Job summary

BDO Canada in Canada is seeking an Intermediate Associate to join the Financial Reporting & Insights team in Markham or Oakville. You will own the compilation engagements, prepare various tax returns, and build strong client relationships while supporting managers and partners.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience in the public accounting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare compilation engagements, including year-end working paper files, financial statements, and supporting documentation, for clients in a variety of industries.
  • Prepare and review corporate (T2), personal (T1), trust (T3), and partnership tax returns.
  • Prepare information returns and slips, including T4, T4A, T5, and related CRA filings.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients to communicate directly, request information, discuss accounting matters, and effectively respond to inquiries.
  • Identify and resolve accounting and bookkeeping issues while supporting managers and partners in delivering high-quality client service and meeting deadlines.
  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Invest in the professional development of your team by engaging in training and mentoring junior team members.

Your Opportunity

Our Markham or Oakville office is looking for an Intermediate Associate to join the Financial Reporting & Insights team. This is an existing vacancy where you will own the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare compilation engagements, including year-end working paper files, financial statements, and supporting documentation, for clients in a variety of industries.
  • Prepare and review corporate (T2), personal (T1), trust (T3), and partnership tax returns.

Your experience and education

You have 2+ years of related experience in the public accounting industry. You enjoy working within a variety of industries and are keen to develop further knowledge in this area. You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work. You display strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. You have the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $43,000 - $75,000 annually.
