Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations for its South African division in Kimberley. This full-time, on-site role requires leading accounting, budgeting and controls, with responsibility for reports, analysis and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a CA(SA) or equivalent, 8+ years in financial management (4+ in supervision), and extensive FMCG experience. SAP/Oracle and advanced Excel skills are essential.

About the Role

Our client, a leading and established Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, is seeking a highly qualified Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations for its South African division. This critical role will be based in Kimberley, Northern Cape , and will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. You will play a key role in providing financial insights and strategic guidance to support business decision-making and ensure financial health and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, extensive experience in the FMCG sector, and a proven ability to lead a finance team. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African tax laws and financial regulations.
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Drive process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or controller role.
• Extensive experience within the FMCG industry is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African accounting standards.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and financial risk management.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kimberley, Northern Cape , for this full-time, on-site role.
