The ideal candidate has a CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification, 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, and proficiency with SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing enterprise in Kimberley, Northern Cape, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in month-end and year-end closing processes, financial analysis, and the development of internal controls. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, variance explanations, and forecasting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and strengthen controls.
• Manage the audit process, acting as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and South African tax laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Experience in a supervisory or management role is advantageous.
• Knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) is a plus.
