Job summary

Neopharm Labs Inc. in Blainville, Quebec seeks a Financial Controller to lead the Accounting and Procurement departments and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.

The role collaborates with management to optimize budgeting processes, comply with regulatory requirements, and support strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, and at least five years of finance experience in a service-focused company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
• CPA designation required or in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a service-based company.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounting and Procurement departments and ensure integrity of accounting activities.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and intercompany transactions.
• Lead budgeting processes and advise managers on methodology.
• Coordinate government reports, remittances, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive improvements to accounting practices and internal controls.
• Coordinate year-end audit documentation and tax processes with external providers.
• Lead cost accounting to establish standard costs and influence pricing strategies.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and support strategic business plans.
• Support evaluation of business opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities of theFinancial Controller

• Manage the Accounting and Procurement departments;
• Manage and ensure the integrity of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions;
• Ensure the effective execution of the budgeting process and advise managers on the methodology used to generate results;
• Manage government reports, remittances, and audits, and act as a liaison with government authorities;
• Evaluate and implement improvements to accounting practices and internal control policies;
• Prepare year-end audit documentation and coordinate the tax process and related activities with external professional service providers;
• Lead cost accounting activities to establish standard costs and provide information that influences pricing strategies;
• Identify and evaluate cost optimization strategies to assist managers in reducing costs;
• Support managers in developing compelling business plans that support our growth;
• Assist with the financial evaluation of various business opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures;
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or as required.

Profile Soughtof theFinancial Controller

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent;
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a service-based company.
