We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Cambridge, ON team. Reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting, this role manages financial aspects of contracts, including project setup, budget changes, revenue recognition, invoicing, and forecasting. The role involves collaboration with various departments and external parties, including customers and auditors.

Accountabilities

• Manage Fixed Price and T&M Projects, determine revenue recognition per ASC605-35, and maintain projects in SAP and Timberline.
• Prepare scope changes, monitor budgets, costs, and cash flow, and complete month-end accruals and revenue recognition reviews.
• Coordinate customer invoicing, including milestone billings and reconciliation.
• Develop monthly forecasts for backlog projects, including revenue, costs, and cash flow, and ensure accuracy in BPC.
• Prepare documents for internal reviews, including profit statements, risk assessments, and billing schedules.
• Assist with audits, ensure compliance with SOX and COSO, and perform account reconciliations.

Knowledge & Experience

• Degree or diploma in accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Enrolled in an accounting designation program is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; SAP knowledge is an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
