Job summary

Caressant Care is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Head Office Finance team in Woodstock, Ontario. This full-time role focuses on reviewing, processing and reconciling bank and trust accounts, processing electronic fund transactions, and supporting period-end accruals as part of financial reporting.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will work with locations and banks to ensure timely processing and accurate reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Experience with bank account transactions and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication with internal and external contacts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Adagio GL and PointClickCare Billing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GL reconciliation of bank accounts and prepare journal entries.
  • Review monthly trust account reconciliations.
  • Process EFT transactions including vendor payments, payroll and resident preauthorized payments.
  • Submit source deduction payments and reconcile CRA accounts.
  • Prepare weekly vacancy reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end account analyses.

The Financial Analyst is a key role within the Finance Department, responsible for reviewing, processing and reconciling the bank and trust accounts, processing electronic fund transactions and pre-authorized payments, and supporting period-end accrual functions as part of the financial reporting process. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with the individual locations and with the financial institutions to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform GL reconciliation of all bank accounts and prepare journal entries as required.
  • Review all monthly trust account reconciliations.
  • Process EFT transactions with bank including vendor payments, payroll and preauthorized payments from residents.
  • Submit all source deduction payments and reconcile relevant CRA accounts.
  • Preparation of weekly vacancy reports.
  • Various month end and year end account analysis.

What you bring…

  • Experience in bank account transaction processes and reconciliations.
  • Ability to problem-solve and investigate issues independently.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external individuals when discrepancies arise.
  • Candidate must be very detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate must have strong computer skills and intermediate experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with Adagio general ledger and PointClickCare billing and trust software is an advantage, but not required.

This position is located at our Head Office in Woodstock, ON. This is a full-time position of 5 days per week. There are flexible work options available with an opportunity to work a portion of the week remotely. Salary range for this position is $67,500 to $72,500.
