Job summary

Voith Group Canada is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Operations team under the Financial Controller. The role coordinates between Finance and Operations and requires 3–5 years in finance/operations support, strong Excel, and ERP experience.

The position is based in Hawkesbury with a requirement to commute to the office at least 3 days per week. Key responsibilities include invoicing analysis, month-end tasks, reporting, cost reviews and compliance support.

Qualifications

  • Finance or administrative certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • 3–5 years in finance and operations support or similar role.
  • Experience in production/operations environment and materials knowledge.
  • Familiarity with purchasing processes.
  • Strong supplier communication skills.
  • ERP systems (JDE an asset) and BI tools.
  • Excellent Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and code invoices and accounting documents.
  • Create and analyze financial and non-financial reports.
  • Perform month-end duties including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare payments and deposits in CAD & USD.
  • Support accounts payable and payroll information.
  • Assist with compliance activities and audits.
  • Support financial forecasts and cost reviews.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analyses.

Financial Analyst

Hawkesbury, On

Location : Hawkesburry, ON (You must be able to commute to the office minimum 3 days per week)

The role of the Financial Analyst is to work under the supervision of the Financial Controller and work in close collaboration to support the Operations team. The individual is responsible for the coordination between Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and code invoices and other relevant accounting documents and process accordingly
  • Create and analyze financial and non-financial reports/data to resolve general questions or inquiries
  • Complete assigned month-end duties including but not limited to journal entry preparation, creation of miscellaneous invoices, sales reconciliation, Balance Sheet reconciliations, calculate Warranty provision and rebate accruals
  • Prepare mandatory payments such as Union payments, Humanity Fund & Flower Fund
  • Prepare deposit slips for CAD & USD payments and responsible for bank deposits. Verify check runs and request wire transfers to EUR or USD accounts
  • Provide payment information for employees’ pension plan and benefits to accounts payable
  • Support internal stakeholders and resolve issues when needed
  • Support Controller in implementing and managing the Compliance function and ensure adherence to Voith Group directives
  • Support Controller in regular audits and help implement corrective financial action plans
  • Support required financial forecasts
  • Support accounts payable with questions about PO related workflows and assign costs to correct jobs
  • Support the capital project requests, expense tracking and capitalization
  • Complete collections for Canadian customers
  • Support Operations with labor and cost reviews
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis
Qualifications
  • Finance or administrative certificate or a combination of training with relevant experience
  • Understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • At least 3-5 years experience in both finance and operations support or similar role
  • Experience in an operations and production environment and knowledge of different kind of materials needed for production and maintenance
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes
  • Strong experience in communicating and dealing with suppliers
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE an asset) and BI tools
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with Excel
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt as per business needs
  • Analytical, organizational, interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Client-service oriented
  • Fluent in English and French
