Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Financial Analyst - Team Lead in the Infrastructure Services department. You will guide a dedicated team handling project setup, financial controls, and purchasing for major capital initiatives.

Responsibilities include leading staff, ensuring timely financial support across branches, and translating data into management-ready reports and dashboards. A hybrid work arrangement is available, with a focus on compliant, transparent financial processes.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related financial discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible accounting/financial experience, including project management environments.
• CPA or active progress toward designation is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP modules and project financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach an internal team handling purchase orders, billing, and payment support.
• Allocate team resources and prioritize workloads to ensure timely financial support.
• Serve as primary contact for capital project cost structures and purchasing processes.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and partners to resolve payment issues.
• Audit and maintain financial controls across SAP, PMIS, and COBS.
