Sandy Bay Child & Family Services in Manitoba seeks a Finance Manager to report to the Executive Director and SBCFS Board, ensuring financial activities align with policies and funding guidelines.

The role oversees budgeting, financial reporting, audit coordination, cash management, and compliance across the organization, with leadership responsibilities for the Finance Department and interactions with funders and auditors.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in business administration, Bachelor of Commerce or other discipline related to the service provided by a recognized Post Secondary Institution.
• Possess a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation or CAFM (Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager) designation.
• Must have a minimum of five years’ proven experience with a senior management role in Finance.
• Must have a valid Manitoba Drivers license, access to a vehicle and willing to travel.
• Must pass Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
• Ability to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language would be an asset.
• Knowledge and respect of First Nations traditional culture and traditional philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor financial controls, expenditures, contracts, purchasing, and compliance with approved authorities, Agency policies and within the framework of Provincial and Federal funders.
• Monitor mandatory, discretionary, emergency, and capital expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets, spending processes, and delegated authorities.
• Will prepare and present internal financial statements on a quarterly basis to Board of Directors for approval
• Together with the Executive Director, the incumbent will coordinate the annual budgeting process, including departmental budgets, financial forecasting, monitoring, and budget revisions.
