Job summary

Attawapiskat Enterprises Group of Companies (AE Group) in Timmins, ON is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial and accounting functions across the group and partner with the CEO and leadership team to drive sound financial management and strategic decision-making.

The role requires 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and expertise in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software.
• Strong knowledge financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• High level of accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, and inventory transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting processes and monitor results against approved budgets.
• Maintain strong financial controls, policies, procedures, and accurate financial records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate year-end processes and work with external accountants and auditors.
• Monitor cash flow and provide financial information and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Assist the CEO and management team with financial planning, risk management, business development, and operational improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, reporting, and efficiencies across the organization.
