Description of Duties:
The Finance and Reporting Volunteer will support HSDE Canada in managing its financial documentation, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability. This role is essential for maintaining the organization's compliance with funder requirements and charitable regulations.
Key Duties:
Prepare and update project and organizational budgets in collaboration with program teams.
Assist in drafting and organizing annual financial reports and donor reports.
Track income and expenditures, ensuring proper documentation and categorization of transactions.
Support the preparation of financial data for audits and CRA compliance.
Maintain financial records, receipts, and supporting documentation in an organized and secure manner.
Contribute to writing funding applications by providing accurate financial data and cost breakdowns.
Help monitor grant spending against budgets and flag variances.
Skills Required:
Financial Literacy: Understanding of budgeting, financial statements, and basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets: Ability to create and manage spreadsheets, use formulas, and generate reports.
Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in data entry, tracking expenses, and reviewing financial documents.
Organizational Skills: Capable of maintaining clear, well-structured records and meeting deadlines.
Report Writing: Ability to contribute to financial sections of annual reports and grant applications.
