Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Co-op student to gain hands-on experience across policy exceptions, data projects, and reporting. You will work with analytics, SQL, Power BI, Python, and automation tools in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

You'll develop technical and business skills, benefit from personalized mentorship, participate in events, and join a supportive community within Manulife's GRO program for graduating students.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles, practices, and trends.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
• Experience leveraging AI-based tools.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, and process policy exceptions in the reinsurance administration system.
• Support small to medium-sized projects and data cleanup initiatives, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
• Develop and/or automate key management reports using SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Python, and other tools.
• Support audits by coordinating evidence, documentation, and examples.
• Identify, resolve, or elevate unusual business trends and issues.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with various departments across the organization.
