Field Technician - Wireless Network Support

Calian ITCS is seeking a Field Technician - Wireless Network Support for a 6-12 month renewable full-time contract. The role involves supporting the commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of wireless network infrastructure in Montreal, QC.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Operations & Troubleshooting: Respond to network issues, coordinate with various teams, perform acceptance tests, and conduct root cause analysis.
2. Maintenance & Optimization: Execute preventive maintenance, participate in network upgrades, and investigate interference issues.
3. Installation & Commissioning: Implement work orders, validate performance of transmission systems, and conduct acceptance inspections.
4. Inventory & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and handle administrative tasks.
5. On-Call & Field Work: Provide support during off-hours, access remote sites, and deploy generators during outages.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics or related experience in telecommunications.
• Experience with wireless networks, microwave systems, and transmission technologies.
• Strong knowledge of RF, fibre optics, SONET, and TCP/IP networking.
• Problem-solving skills in field troubleshooting.
• Valid Quebec driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities.
