Job description

Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to customers. Performs tasks related to testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and reconditioning hydraulic components and rotating assemblies on customer sites or in a shop environment.

The Role

  • Complete dismantling and inspection of components, along with comprehensive service reports including accurate measurements.
  • Build, repair, service, and troubleshoot hydraulic components and rotating assemblies.
  • Test rebuilt components or systems to ensure acceptable results.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop and work areas to promote safety, along with performing cleaning and maintenance duties as needed.
  • Machine various components using mill and lathe equipment.
  • Respond to field service calls, with potential for up to 2 weeks on-site.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

The Candidate

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanics, Hydraulics, Millwright, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluid Power Training is an asset.
  • Knowledge of machining (e.g., lathe, milling machine) required.
  • Fabrication experience and basic electrical knowledge are assets.
  • Strong familiarity with heavy-duty tools and equipment.
  • Mechanically inclined with a good capacity to learn.
  • Ability to work safely alone or in a team on customer sites.
  • Effective communication of technical issues.
  • Service-oriented and team player.
