SUMMARY

As a member of the Service team, the Field Technician must be a highly motivated team player who completes duties in a professional and timely manner. The HD Field Mechanic will work in a safe, effective, clean, organized, and professional environment to ensure Nors Construction Equipment ST surpasses customer expectations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a customer-focused philosophy within the department and branch.
• Increase revenues, improve operating efficiencies, and enhance customer satisfaction through timely completion of field service work.
• Handle all aspects of assigned field service calls, including:
• Proactive customer contact to identify machine faults;
• Timely diagnosis and repair, including computer connection/diagnosis for fault codes;
• Effective communication with vendors (e.g., Volvo) for diagnosis support;
• Order and follow-up on parts to ensure timely completion of service;
• Submit accurate and timely service reports and time cards;
• Maintain assigned service vehicle and tools;
• Perform daily vehicle checks and maintain CVOR log-books;
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and office;
• Return unused parts upon job completion;
• Manage customer inquiries professionally and promptly.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Proficiency with hand tools, computer tools, torches, welding equipment, air tools, etc.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Post-secondary diploma or relevant work experience;
• Licensed Heavy Equipment Certification/license (421A) or equivalent;
• Journeyman Red Seal certification.
