Job summary

Midwest in Calgary is seeking a Surveys Assistant to support crews across surveying projects. You will assist the Crew Chief, operate survey equipment under supervision, and help with staking boundaries and data collection.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma, and be willing to travel for field work. We offer mentorship, comprehensive benefits, and paid safety training in Western Canada.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; geomatics courses are an asset.
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol testing as required.
• Experience outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Familiarity with survey equipment and basic data collection.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel) and navigational tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Crew Chief in surveying across all divisions.
• Follow Midwest safety policies and participate in safety meetings.
• Able to communicate effectively and learn survey methods.
• Operate survey equipment under supervision and set up tasks.
• Perform basic data collection and staking/flagging boundaries.
• Maintain organized tools, supplies, and vehicles.
