Job summary

Midwest is seeking a full-time Crew Chief for its Utility Services team in Calgary. You will lead a field crew, perform powerline design and construction surveying, and complete survey calculations while engaging with clients and landowners.

The role requires a Geomatics qualification and 5+ years in surveying, with outdoor, all-weather work and travel as needed. A valid driver’s license and safe-work practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Geomatics or equivalent.
• 5+ years in the survey industry in related role.
• Ability to comply with Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
• Experience in outdoor all-weather environments.
• Experience operating survey equipment (RTK GNSS, Total Stations, Levels, Laser Scanners).

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew in surveying tasks within Utility Services.
• Perform powerline design, layout, and construction surveying.
• Complete survey calculations.
• Interact with Midwest clients and landowners.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Land Surveyors to ensure quality service.
