Job summary

Midwest is seeking a Survey Assistant for its Lethbridge location. The role involves outdoor fieldwork, operating survey equipment under supervision, and supporting Crew Chief with basic tasks such as staking boundaries. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean record.
• High School Diploma (Geomatics coursework considered an asset).
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol testing as required by client and regulations.
• Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience with OHVs and 1-ton class trucks (F-350 or similar).
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Comfort with navigational tools (GPS units, maps, etc.).
• Experience with survey equipment (GNSS RTK, Total Stations, Levels, UAVs) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Follow Midwest health and safety policies and participate in safety culture.
• Participate in monthly field safety meetings.
• Communicate effectively with Crew Chief and learn survey methods.
• Operate survey equipment under supervision.
• Perform basic survey tasks such as staking and flagging boundaries.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and tools.
• Travel to job sites as needed; lodging costs covered by Midwest.
