Job summary

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician for our Lloydminster Brandt Peterbilt location to perform field diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer equipment. The role emphasizes quality service, efficiency, and timely issue resolution in a field environment, often in customer shops.

The candidate should have trade qualifications in Heavy Equipment/Truck/Transport, at least 3 years’ experience, and strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Possess computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment to accurately identify repair needs and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose, disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems to restore optimal equipment performance.
• Conduct customer, manufacturer, and government-mandated inspections to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as fluid and filter changes, battery testing, brake system adjustments, and lubrication to prolong equipment life.
• Execute advanced mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission diagnosis, repair, or replacement, to resolve complex issues.
• Mentor and oversee apprentices to support their professional growth.
