Job summary

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a Service Technician-Shop for our Mississauga location. The technician will diagnose, service, and repair customer and dealer-owned equipment, ensuring quality workmanship and timely issue resolution.

The role requires independent diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Possess computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work.
• Possess diagnostic skills to understand repair needs.
• Strong time management skills under pressure.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate within budgets and approvals established by the Service Manager.
• Maintain high productivity, efficiency, and gross margin to contribute to branch goals.
• Achieve and uphold a quality of work metric of 98%, minimizing rework and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment to identify repair needs and minimize downtime.
• Disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems to restore performance.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality and regulatory standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as fluid changes and lubrication.
• Execute advanced mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission diagnosis or replacement.
• Maintain current product knowledge and ensure a safe work environment.
• Mentor apprentices and support their growth.
