Foodmate US. Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Field Service Technician to support installed systems and new installations.

The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and debugging electro-mechanical poultry processing equipment, with frequent travel to customer sites. You will collaborate with customer management, supervisors, and technicians to ensure ongoing satisfaction. A strong mechanical, electrical, and PLC background is preferred, along with a valid driver's license and passport due

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate/bachelor in Mechatronics preferred.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMI, and servo/VFD systems.
• Travel extensively; valid driver's license and passport required.

Responsibilities

• Test, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Provide first‑level customer support for installed Foodmate systems.
• Install, service, and repair equipment at customer sites, often with travel.
• Communicate clearly with customer management, supervisors, and technicians.

** This position is a high-travel employee based out of Toronto, Canada. **

Foodmate US. Inc. is a leading poultry processing equipment provider, founded by industry experts in 2010. The company launch in the U.S. was a result of a successful product line development in the manufacturing facility located in the Netherlands.

The Field Service Technician provides first-level customer support for installed Foodmate systems and new installations. He or she should possess the skills to test, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug electro-mechanical processing equipment and related systems. The Field Service Technician must be able to use his or her outstanding communication skills to work closely with customer management, supervisors, production employees, and technicians on complex problems and assume responsibilities for continued customer satisfaction. This position requires frequent travel to customer sites to assist with installation, servicing and repair of Foodmate poultry processing equipment and related sub-systems, and equipment rebuilds. Work assignments are varied but limited in scope and complexity. • Degree of knowledge and experience of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematics and mechanical engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of AB CompactLogix and various other PLCs; knowledge/experience in operation, troubleshooting, and modifications.
• AB PanelView and various types of HMI programming and troubleshooting.
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter configuration and programming.
• Depth-full understanding of Servo drive motor systems and configuration.

Duravant Field Service Technician Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics is desired.
• EE, EET, EECS or Industrial Electronics degree is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in the maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of large capital equipment required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background required.
• Solid understanding of PLCs is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license, valid passport, and a good driving record.
• Travel extensively, up to 100%; this can be regional, national, or international with heavy weekend and holiday work.
