Job summary

Colt Automation in Mississauga is hiring a Field Service Technician – Industrial Automation. You will provide field service support including installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, and you will travel across North America and Mexico.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years reading electrical schematics, experience with VFDs, servo drives, PLCs, gear motors, and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years reading electrical power schematics and blueprints.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, panel controls and wiring.
• Proficient in test meters and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide field service support during visits or dispatches.
• Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.

Field Service Technician – Industrial Automation

Colt Automation is a leader Coil Processing industry. In its 50 years of operation, the company has achieved significant growth. We are currently seeking experienced Controls Engineers to join our team You will bring your great work ethic, and positive attitude.

This position requires the ability to provide field service support including installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. The successful candidate will diagnose technical issues, complete service documentation, and deliver timely, professional customer support while traveling throughout North America and Mexico.

Salary:$30+ per hour based on Experience

Location:Mississauga, ON

Job Type:Full-Time

Travel: Some local & International Travel required. (Canada, US, Mexico). A valid passport is required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience:

• 5+ years of previous experience reading, interpreting and following electrical power schematics and blueprints. Ability to read blueprints
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, panel controls and wiring, VFD drives, Servo drives, Servo Motors, PLC troubleshooting, Gear Motors, Hydraulics, Pneumatics.
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to us specific hand tools and power tools

Education:

• College / University;

Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electricians license required
