Qualtech Inc is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Automation team in Quebec. You will support customer inquiries, diagnose issues, and implement automated control solutions at client sites.

Responsibilities include programming PLCs and HMIs, adjusting instruments, and occasionally responding to emergencies outside business hours. A DEC/DEP in related field is required, with up to 50% travel across Canada and the USA.

Formación

• 2+ years experience in a similar or related field.
• Strong PLC programming knowledge with major brands.
• French language knowledge and intermediate English for cross-team communication.
• DEC or DEP directly linked to the domain.

• Assist in implementing corrective solutions and resume activities for clients.

• Monitor PLC & HMI models as established by clients and Qualtech.

Under the supervision of the Director of Automation, the main mandate of the Automation Service Technician is to support the customer service of the automation and control department at Qualtech Solutions. His role includes supporting customer inquiries and responding to emergency calls.

Your mission

• Understand the client’s needs and understand their processes, propose corrective solutions in order to plan interventions;
• Perform diagnostics for customers and make changes accordingly;
• Participate in the implementation of the corrective solution and then assist the client in resuming its activity;
• Adjust the various instruments and electronic devices of automated systems at customer locations;
• Be available to respond to emergency calls outside regular working hours (about 15% of the time, determined in advance);
• Plan and carry out the programming of programmable logic controllers and operator interfaces;
• Monitoring of PLC & HMI programming models established by clients and by Qualtech.

Profile

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar or related field;
• Strong knowledge in programmable logic controller programming: Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Omron and all types of industrial control controllers;
• Valid class 5 licence and ability to travel up to 50% of the time (Canada and USA);
• Good knowledge of French and a minimum intermediate level of English to communicate with the various internal teams outside Quebec and with various clients as needed;
• Experience in the agri-food industry (an asset);
• DEC or DEP directly linked to the domain;
• All other related training combined with the number of years of experience related to the position will be considered.
