JOB TITLE: Field Service Technician
LOCATION: MANITOBA
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide expert analysis of structural, mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
- Teardown, re-assemble, commission/test, and troubleshoot MEMCO equipment at customer sites or MEMCO facilities as required.
- Execute planned work tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist the Product Support Manager with preparing technical reports, presentations, and repair cost estimates, and perform audits of customer equipment.
- Develop professional relationships with key customer personnel and communicate organizational or policy changes to the Service Manager.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate teams (Sales, Engineering).
Qualifications
Education
- Certificate of Qualification as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic (HDM) preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate. Other relevant certifications such as HDEM, Truck and Coach, Aircraft, Millwright, and Automotive Journeyman will also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience as a Journeyperson, preferably on heavy mobile equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings, and electrical wiring harness and control system schematics.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to be flexible and open to new methods, processes, and technologies.
- Ability to work independently or within a team under minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication across disciplines with Engineering, Purchasing, and Marketing staff.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work overtime, off-shift, and weekends as needed.
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods (valid passport required).
