Join to apply for the Field Service Technician role at Weber Packaging Solutions, Inc.

Residing in Ontario, the Field Service Technician will focus on serving customers by installing new labelling equipment, industrial thermal transfer printers, and ink jet printers (CIJ, TIJ, Piezo Electric) at customer sites, as well as repairing, servicing/maintaining, and training on automated labelling systems, print & apply applicators, thermal transfer printers, and ink jet printers.

The successful candidate will possess mechanical, electrical, and technical skills, a can-do attitude, excellent customer service skills, and attention to detail. Additional responsibilities include:

1. Delivering service, repair, and installation activities at customer sites for all products supported by the company.
2. Reviewing plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare for installations.
3. Training customers on setup, operation, troubleshooting, and providing technical support.
4. Performing readiness preparation, calibration, configuration, testing, and evaluation of new installations.
5. Responding promptly to service calls and inspecting malfunctioning equipment.
6. Estimating problem resolution costs and documenting symptoms and causes.
7. Supporting sales with demonstrations and maintaining customer rapport.
8. Communicating daily with dispatch, parts, and support departments.
9. Traveling overnight as required, including out-of-province and out-of-country travel, and after-hours support.

Required Qualifications: College or technical/mechanical degree or equivalent experience. Bench repair experience on packaging/industrial equipment, including thermal transfer printers, labelling machines, and inkjet systems (CIJ, TIJ, Piezo Electric).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills to build trust and maintain professionalism.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driver’s abstract, valid passport, and usable credit card.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to travel using various transportation modes.
• Exposure to different environments, including dust, dirt, fumes, heat, cold, noise, and inclement weather.
