We are seeking Field Technicians at both junior and senior levels to support the maintenance and technical service of Red Light Camera (RLC ) and Automated Speed Enforcement systems . This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions to ensure proper operation, upkeep, and data collection from enforcement equipment. This role is focused on equipment and system reliability, troubleshooting and system upkeep across multiple municipalities.

Technicians will work primarily outdoors, handling installations, repairs and preventative maintenance while occasionally assisting with warehouse operations such as equipment preparation, inventory management and system testing.

Ideal candidates will have a strong technical background , experience with field work , and a commitment to reliable service and operational integrity . This position offers great opportunities for advancement , as we continue to expand our programs and the number of enforcement systems deployed.

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

The Field Technician will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation, maintenance and servicing of Red Light and Automated Speed Enforcement camera systems. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail and a commitment to compliance with industry regulations. You will be working independently in the field, managing various tasks related to troubleshooting, data collection and system upkeep while adhering to established protocols.

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain digital camera systems in pole-mounted cabinets.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of traffic enforcement cameras.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize system efficiency.
  • Execute basic troubleshooting mechanical and electrical work, including assembly and installation of equipment components.
  • Identify faults in system performance and conduct repairs or replacements when necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):

Technical & Compliance Duties:

  • Ensure systems remain operational and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Document site maintenance reports via company-provided mobile applications.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to operational best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the project management team and field service manager to ensure service quality and reporting.
  • Maintain company-provided equipment, including vehicles, laptops, and phones.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Travel occasionally for technical training or field support when required.
  • Provide support for other programs when needed.
  • Prepare and organize equipment for upcoming installations and maintenance work
  • Assist with workshop repairs, minor hardware confiscations and system calibration before installations.
  • Assist with equipment packaging, labelling and logistics coordination for system deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the warehouse.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Junior technicians should have 1-3 technicians in a technical or field service role and have basic troubleshooting experience with electronic components, wiring and computer hardware.
  • Senior technicians 3-5+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic components, wiring, and computer hardware and have lead installations, maintenance and system upgrades. They should have experience with advanced troubleshooting, system diagnostics and complex repairs. Ideal candidates should have experience with training and mentoring junior technicians.
  • Knowledge of digital photography and camera technology is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and basic Office Software applications.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record. **Driving assessment required prior to job offer**
  • Experience operating large vehicles (bucket/crane trucks) highly preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be highly reliable, committed to responsibilities, and dedicated to operational excellence.
  • Ambitious and hard working with a clean driver’s license.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Clean police record (criminal background check required)
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
  • Adhere to Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
  • Canadian Citizenship or Qualified Canadian Worker.
