Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Field Service team in Sparwood, British Columbia. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain mining equipment at customer sites, ensuring peak performance and strong client relationships.

The role requires working a 7x7 day/night shift, travel up to 25% in Canada/USA, and a safety‑minded, self‑driven approach in a field environment. Competitive benefits and company tools provided.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright certification preferred.
• 3–5 years mining or construction experience.
• Experience with Joy Global product is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, service and inspection of the mining equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Adjust, repair or replace defective equipment parts at customer sites.
• Test the repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Experience using Micrometers to measure tight tolerances.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Assist other mechanics and apprentices in shop and field.
