Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Ontario is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to service laboratory instruments across the Toronto area. Responsibilities include on-site installation, upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring customers' equipment operates at peak performance.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, biology, chemistry or related field, strong English, valid driver's license and passport, and ability to travel; must adhere to PPE and safety protocols in a lab

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, biology, chemistry or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Masters-level degree in related field preferred.
Valid driver’s license and passport.

Responsibilities

Performs installation, upgrades, updates, repairs and preventative maintenance on customer lab instruments on-site.
Displays professionalism and technical knowledge in customer interactions.
Collaborates with internal partners to resolve issues and improve processes.
Documents service tickets (C4S), escalations, FPR/FSR submissions.
Manages spare parts handling, order, usage, returns and inventory.
Keeps up-to-date on products, markets, and competitors.
May promote service contracts and other service products to customers.
