Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Service Engineer to join our depot-based team in Portlaoise and field locations. You will be a mechanical or electrical specialist responsible for maintenance and repair of power and energy solutions on customer sites, with travel required.

You will complete repairs on time and to safety and quality standards, maintain equipment, manage stock levels, and support the service crew. We value hands-on expertise and a proactive approach to reliability.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 6 in engineering/mechanical subject (or equivalent).
• Experience servicing and repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery).
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Good level of PC literacy including MS Office applications.
• Well-organised and capable of keeping a vehicle to GSCS standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the completion of repairs and overhauls on time, to standard, and within agreed budgets for both specific repairs and overall department budgets.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices and quality standards.
• Carry out the total maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain the stock levels of materials required and ensure that the appropriate tools are in place and ready for use.
• Report and document component failures.
• Contribute to optimum team performance and capability by providing quality work to maintain and enhance the reliability of equipment.
• Assist, support, and train service crew.
• Test and evaluate refurbished and repaired generators and prepare test reports as per ISO standards.
