Job Description
The role involves promoting and supporting the growth of Gourmet Sales through our distribution partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Building long-term relationships with indirect customers, analyzing their needs, and documenting business activities in Sales Force and other commercial initiatives of Barry Callebaut.
- Supporting the development and planning of sales strategies, forecasts, and customer service strategies, including executing channel promotions, incentives, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Coordinating with marketing to execute pull strategies that promote consumption among end users and distributors, including promotional activities and point-of-sale activations.
- Implementing Core Basket strategies by tracking and executing the Winning portfolio for Canada, promoting the appropriate portfolio across segments.
- Assisting in the distributor development program, aligning objectives, and executing joint projects as part of the Gourmet Canada value proposition.
- Promoting sales tools related to the commercial partners platform and synergies with the Chocolate Academy.
- Gaining deep knowledge of end-users and segments to promote a balanced, multi-segmented business approach, identifying priority end-users.
- Collaborating with culinary schools, influencers, and partner organizations.
- Working closely with the Senior Sales Manager and marketing teams to organize demos, trade shows, chef events, and marketing activities, primarily in Ontario.
- Pursuing sales leads, visiting customers, responding to inquiries, and assessing needs to suggest suitable products and services. Regularly conducting joint customer visits with distributors, negotiating prices and delivery times within authorized limits, and closing sales to meet revenue targets.
- Researching and contacting prospective customers to build sustainable relationships and generate sales.
- Reporting market intelligence, customer feedback, and sales leads to relevant internal teams to adapt to market conditions.
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Food Science, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the food industry, especially in selling food ingredients to bakeries, pastry shops, chocolatiers, dairy, confectionery, and large food processing companies in Mexico.
- Proven sales track record with strong negotiation skills, high-impact sales in revenue and volume.
- Skills in sales analysis, projections, and planning.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on service and value addition.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
- Preference for candidates residing in Ontario.
- Willingness and ability to travel intra- and extra-provincially up to 50%.
