Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is hiring in Burlington, ON for a service technician role. You will inspect, service, and repair a diverse fleet of construction equipment, providing excellent customer service on-site and at the shop.

The job supports the opening of the London, ON location and requires flexibility for overtime and on-call duties. Applicants should have at least 2 years of mechanical experience, a valid G license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.
• Valid class G driver’s license with a clean abstract (≤3 demerits).
• Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and on-call rotations as needed.
• Strong communication skills and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment on customer jobsites and in the shop.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs; test equipment on-site and in shop.
• Provide high-standard customer service in all interactions.
• Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders.
• Assist with duties such as washing, yard organization, and deliveries to support London, ON opening.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety policies.

What You'll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including (but not limited to) earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts and scissor lifts on customer jobsites (and in the shop as needed).
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs, testing repaired equipment for proper performance on customer jobsites (and in the shop as needed).
• Provide a high standard of customer service in all interactions with customers.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
• Assist with other duties within the branch such as washing and cleaning equipment, organizing the yard, deliveries, answering the phone, etc. to support the opening of the new London, ON location.
• Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.

Qualifications And Requirements

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience is required, working on a variety of construction equipment. 421A or 310T license is an asset (but not required).
• Valid class G driver's license with clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly flexible; must be comfortable with adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment, and willing to assist with other duties within the branch.
• Must be available and willing to work overtime and on an on-call rotation as needed.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Customer-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
