Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is hiring a mechanically skilled technician to inspect, service and repair a diverse fleet on customers' sites and in the shop. You will diagnose faults, test repairs, and maintain thorough records while delivering excellent customer service.

The role supports the opening of a new London, ON location in a safety-minded, team-focused environment. Requirements include at least 2 years of mechanical experience, a valid G license with a clean record, ability to lift up to 50

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.
• Valid G-class driver's license with clean or satisfactory abstract.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime/on-call as needed.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Wamiliarity with diesel engines, hydraulic pumps and motors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment on jobsites and in the shop.
• Diagnose malfunctions and test repairs to ensure proper performance.
• Provide high standard of customer service in all interactions.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including (but not limited to) earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts and scissor lifts on customer jobsites (and in the shop as needed).
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs, testing repaired equipment for proper performance on customer jobsites (and in the shop as needed).
• Provide a high standard of customer service in all interactions with customers.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
• Assist with other duties within the branch such as washing and cleaning equipment, organizing the yard, deliveries, answering the phone, etc. to support the opening of the new London, ON location.
• Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience is required, working on a variety of construction equipment. 421A or 310T license is an asset (but not required).
• Valid class G driver's license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly flexible; must be comfortable with adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment, and willing to assist with other duties within the branch.
• Must be available and willing to work overtime and on an on-call rotation as needed.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Customer-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
