Job summary

Metro Testing + Engineering in Edmonton, Alberta, is hiring technicians to perform third party sampling and testing of construction materials for quality control/QA purposes. The role involves field sampling/testing of concrete and soil and building relationships with clients.

The position requires good technical communication, willingness to work nights, and a valid AB driver’s license. Overtime is common during the construction season and benefits are provided after probation.

Qualifications

• Valid AB driver's license and provide driver’s abstract.
• Ability to lift and control weights up to 22 kg (50 lbs).
• Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility in schedule (ability to work nights).

Responsibilities

• Provide third party independent sampling and testing of construction materials for quality control/QA purposes.
• Sample and test concrete and soil in the field.
• Build business relationships with Metro's clients.
• Perform tests following industry standard protocols and procedures.
• Troubleshoot real-time compliance issues in the field and monitor non-compliance protocols.
• Work overtime during the construction season.
