Inline Group Inc. is seeking a skilled Materials Testing Technician for a local Edmonton opportunity. You will perform field and laboratory testing, manage equipment, and collaborate with clients to support high-quality construction projects.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in materials testing, knowledge of Nuclear Gauges, concrete testing, and lab procedures, plus a Civil/Geotechnical diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Nuclear Gauge usage and field concrete testing procedures.
• Laboratory testing requirements and data reporting experience.
• Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel based on project demands.
• CCIL accreditation (Type-C/HMA, Type-QF/QL) or CSA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site testing of materials (including compaction, concrete, and asphalt).
• Prepare reports and enter data using manual and digital systems.
• Maintain and handle materials testing equipment (Nuclear Gauges, concrete tools, lab instruments).
• Collaborate with clients and participate in Inline Group’s ISO 9001 Quality Program and HSE program.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Safety First, Always – Take an active role in site safety meetings, follow all site-specific requirements, and lead by example to promote safe work practices. Encourage safety interventions and maintain a culture where safety and quality come first.
• Field and Laboratory Testing – Conduct on-site testing of various materials, including compaction, concrete, and asphalt testing. Prepare reports and enter data using both manual and digital reporting systems.
• Equipment Management – Maintain and ensure proper handling of materials testing equipment, including Nuclear Gauges, concrete testing tools, and laboratory instruments.
• Client Collaboration – Work closely with clients to provide technical expertise and maintain strong relationships. Actively participate in Inline Group’s ISO 9001 Quality Program and corporate HSE program.
• Technical Excellence – Support geotechnical investigations and instrumentation work while ensuring accurate and reliable testing results to meet industry standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experienced Professional – You have 2-5 years of industrial/civil materials testing experience at an intermediate to senior level.
• Qualified & Skilled – Strong knowledge of Nuclear Gauge usage, field concrete testing procedures, and laboratory testing requirements. A Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ready for the Job – You hold a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record and are comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to travel based on project demands.
• Certification – CCIL accreditation in Type-C/HMA, Type-QF/QL, or CSA is an asset.
