Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. in Edmonton is seeking a Field Manager to observe, monitor, and manage screening operations at the airport.

You will deploy and supervise Screening Officers, coordinate shifts, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced security environment. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in a related field, 2+ years in aviation or regulated settings, and the ability to obtain security clearances.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in a related field is a strong asset.
  • Two or more years of related experience, ideally in Aviation or a federally regulated and unionized environment.
  • You are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident of Canada.
  • You are able to obtain a Transport Security Clearance and Federal Secret Clearance with unpardoned criminal record.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and ability to obtain Airside Vehicle Operators Permit ( AVOP)
  • You have fluency in English, verbal and written (French as an asset)
  • You have demonstrated exceptional communication, people and time management abilities, preferably in a high-volume, quickly changing environment
  • You are available to work any shift as required by the airport operation. This will include, early morning, day, late evening, nights, weekends and statutory holidays

Responsibilities

  • Observe, monitor, and manage screening operations.
  • Deploy and monitor Screening Officers across the airport.
  • Compile reports for the screening area for stakeholders.
  • Identify underutilization and coordinate training activities with Ops Managers.
  • Plan for peak times and congestion and protect restricted areas.
  • Assist Break-Relief Coordinator with coordinating breaks.
  • Perform audits related to documentation, OH&S and equipment.
  • Deploy uniforms and equipment to checkpoints.
  • Ensure sufficient Screening Officers to increase throughput and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor sick calls to maintain headcount.
  • Provide timely updates to SDMs and Operations Managers regarding passenger volumes.
  • Actively performance manage screening officers.

What do Field Managers do?


You will use your strong communication, people and time management skills to observe, monitor, and manage screening operations. You will effectively deploy and monitor Screening Officers by:



  • supporting the day-to-day management of personnel deployment in the field, including facilitating shuttles between primary terminal buildings and external NPS-V checkpoints

  • compiling reports for the screening area for distribution to various stakeholders

  • identifying instances of underutilization and working with Operations Managers and Training & Development Department to organize training activities

  • planning for and monitoring peak operating time issues and congestion concerns protecting restricted areas

  • assisting the Break-Relief Coordinator with coordinating breaks of Screening Personnel and Hourly Non-Screening Personnel

  • performing audits related to documentation, OH&S and equipment

  • deploying uniforms, equipment and any other related materials to different checkpoints throughout the airport

  • ensuring there are sufficient Screening Officers to increase throughput and decrease downtime

  • closely monitor sick calls from Screening Officers, ensuring that the headcount does not fall below a certain threshold

  • providing timely updates to SDMs and Operations Managers regarding the status of anticipated passenger volumes

  • Actively performance manage screening officers


What you bring to PASS:



  • Diploma or Degree in a related field is a strong asset

  • Two or more years of related experience, ideally in Aviation or a federally regulated and unionized environment
