Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Timmins Construction & Forestry location. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining construction and forestry equipment and attachments to ensure reliable operation.

The candidate will diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and document actions taken. Prior heavy equipment experience and a Journeyperson designation are preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with customers, service team and branch personnel.
  • Physical ability to climb, lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment trade preferred.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working condition, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts and repair heavy duty equipment.
  • Use tools and computer systems to document work.
  • Ensure safety standards are followed during tasks.
  • Document machine information and time taken on work orders.
  • Attend to service tasks and hazards as required.
  • Road test equipment and verify attachment operation.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Timmins Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
