Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Thunder Bay Construction & Forestry location. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and attachments used in construction and forestry projects.

You will diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and document all actions on work orders while keeping safety a priority. Strong customer service and mechanical background are highly valued, with opportunities for career growth within Brandt.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, service team, and branch personnel.
• Must meet physical demands including climbing, overhead lifting, standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Previous mechanical experience in heavy equipment preferred.
• Certified Journeyperson in heavy equipment trade preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate condition, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Order parts and document work orders with accuracy.
• Use instruments, hand tools, and computer systems to document maintenance.
• Ensure safety standards and hazard assessments are followed.
• Utilize John Deere Service Advisor for maintenance and diagnosis.
• Access parts catalogs and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
