Qualifications

Job Details

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for the program with physicians.
  • Educate physicians and their staff on program services.
  • Provide therapy guidelines to manage physician expectations regarding reimbursement.
  • Review patient charts to complete necessary paperwork for coverage.
  • Assist MDs with Special Authorization (SA) forms, enrolment forms, prescription renewals, and other documentation.
  • Provide ongoing updates to physicians on their patients.
  • Customize program elements to meet the needs of assigned physicians, adjusting based on in-clinic and remote MD needs.
  • Identify risk areas and promote proactive quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members across roles to coordinate the patient journey.
  • Participate in scheduled physician meetings with sales representatives.
  • Attend Continuous Medical Education events and report new activities.
  • Travel regularly to various physician offices.
  • Report adverse events.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered nurse (RN) qualification.
  • Related degrees (e.g., pharmacists, science degrees) or equivalent transferable skills.
  • Experience in third-party reimbursement, pharmaceutical sales, managed care, or clinical support is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset (especially for Quebec).
  • Previous Case Manager experience is an asset.
  • Basic CCPE certification is an asset.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze enrollment volume by MD.
  • Effective engagement with physicians and their staff as a trusted medical partner.
  • Excellent time management and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with program colleagues.
  • Work autonomously in a remote setting.
  • Effective communication skills in English and French (oral and written), especially for Quebec and New Brunswick.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven.
  • Adaptability to change and ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Willingness to attend healthcare education events outside regular hours.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and private home office space.

The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or cross-functional team members.
