Job summary

Brandt in North Bay is seeking a Field Truck and Coach Technician to join our Peterbilt Team on the day shift. This field position repairs and maintains on-road equipment in the North Bay area.

You will diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, document work orders, and ensure safe operations while supporting warranty work with engineers.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson in Truck & Coach or equivalent trade.
• Experience with CAT, Cummins and PACCAR engines is an asset.
• Experience with electrical diagnosis / aftertreatment systems is an asset.
• Previous shop experience is an asset.
• Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
• Ability to communicate with engineers, service team and branch personnel.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems.
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills for repairs.
• Good time-management and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on-road equipment in the field.
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
• Document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken.
• Assess service task hazards and ensure safe work to accepted standards.
• Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements.
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

We are currently seeking a Field Truck and Coach Technician join our Peterbilt Team in Timmins - reporting to the North Bay Branch. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Truck & Coach based equipment and attachments in a field environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on road equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Other duties as assigned

What We Look For

• Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
• Experience in CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines considered an asset
• Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
• Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is considered an asset.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
• Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
• Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressureStrong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
