Job summary

Brandt is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for the Vars Peterbilt location in Ontario. The role covers diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop setting.

The ideal candidate is a certified journeyperson with experience in CAT/Cummins/PacCar engines and strong diagnostic skills, with a focus on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson certification in Truck and Coach trade or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with CAT, Cummins and PacCar engines is an asset.
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis / troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems is an asset.
  • Previous shop experience and strong customer service mindset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and service teams.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and calibration skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working condition, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts, and repair road equipment.
  • Use safe and efficient secondary materials and equipment.
  • Operate related instruments, tools, and computer systems.
  • Document machine information, actions, and time on work orders.
  • Assess service hazards and perform work safely to standards.
  • Document maintenance and diagnostics using computer systems.
  • Collaborate with equipment engineers to fulfill warranty requirements.
  • Use parts catalogs to locate and order parts.
  • Road test equipment and verify attachment operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Brandt is currently seeking 310T Truck & Coach Technicians for our Vars Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on road equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
  • Other duties as assigned
What We Look For
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
  • Experience in CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines considered an asset
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
  • Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is considered an asset.
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
  • Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
