Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Truck & Transport Technician at our Estevan Peterbilt location. This role focuses on diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches and buses in a shop environment.

The successful candidate will bring mechanical experience in truck and coach settings, a journeyperson designation preferred, and strong diagnostic and communication skills to support customers and engineers. Brandt offers competitive pay, benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a truck and coach environment is required.
  • Journeyperson certification in Truck & Transport trade preferred.
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis and aftertreatment systems is an asset.
  • Strong customer service mindset and communication with engineers and staff.
  • Ability to communicate with engineers, service team and branch personnel.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Good time-management under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair on-road equipment in a shop environment.
  • Document all unit information, actions, and time on work orders.
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs.
  • Maintain safety and follow standards.
  • Work with engineers to fulfill warranty requirements.
  • Use computer systems to document maintenance and diagnosis.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Truck & Transport Technician for our Estevan Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble and repair the on road equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely
  • Use related instruments, hand/power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately document on work orders all unit information, actions taken, and time spent
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs as required
  • Other duties as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a truck and coach environment is required
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Transport technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems is considered an asset
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical &electrical systems
  • Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understandmechanical and technical equipmentrepair needs
  • Strongtime-management skillsto perform effectivelyunder pressure
  • Strong communication skills,showinganappreciation of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
