Job summary

CAC Enterprises Group Inc. (CAC Metal Recycling) in the Greater Edmonton area seeks a Ferrous Metal Equipment Operator for its Acheson yard.

You will run grapple, magnet and shear attachments on material handlers and excavators, processing ferrous scrap and loading end dumps, Super Bs, decks, bins and ocean containers. Year-round, full-time work for a skilled operator who prioritizes safety, completes tasks to standard, and cooperates with drivers and site personnel.

Qualifications

• Heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with material handlers and grapple attachments (Sany, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Sennebogen, JCB, Case).
• Knowledge of counterbalance and load limits.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Dependability and ability to work independently.
• Ability to calculate weight, volume and length.
• Must pass drug and alcohol testing where required.

Responsibilities

• Operate with skill and care. Run material handlers and excavators with grapple, magnet and shear attachments.
• Process and sort ferrous material. Work to the daily plan and keep grades separated and organized.
• Load safely. Build balanced loads in end dumps, Super Bs, decks, bins and ocean containers, coordinating with drivers.
• Inspect and care for equipment. Clean, fuel, lubricate and complete minor repairs, and report defects early.
• Keep the yard safe and tidy. Maintain exclusion zones, manage hazards and clean up before you leave.
• Finish what you start. Complete jobs to the standard or hand them over with a clear note.
